Who doesn’t love to visit hunting and fishing shows? I have had some awesome memories burned in my head from visiting shows in the past.
I grew up in Lockport, IL and always attended the “sports show” at the local high school. I can still smell the trout pond! Actually, what was great about the trout pond was that I knew a midget who tied flies at the show and I’d always get a fly from him to use in that pond. Although the fish rarely went after the supplied bait (kernel of corn), they hammered that fly.
As I got into deer hunting a little more, I started visiting the Deer and Turkey Classic in Illinois. That show always had a good showing from manufacturers and new product vendors. Its always exciting to see what new is coming out for next season. One cool feature of the Deer and Turkey Classic is that it also features some of the best deer mounts/kills from the previous year. All hunters have to do is bring their trophy, register it, and its scored and displayed at the show. I am talking a ton of mounts on display… very cool. Although they keep moving it further down state, I am looking forward to attending this year.

Another show that I am looking forward to attending is the Bowhunting Supershow in Columbus, Ohio. I have never attended this show but I hear its huge and will have a ton of our favorite hunting show stars. Fred and Michelle Eichler, Lee and Tiffany Lakowski, and many more will be there hosting seminars and meeting and greeting show attendees.
